Would you be kind enough to share with me your appreciated opinion concerning the following sentences?
1.1. He wants to go fishing but he has a bad cold.
1.2. But for his cold he would go fishing.
1.1. He could not see the play as he had some work to do.
1.2. But for the work, he had to do, he could have seen the play.
3.1. We reached the camp at daybreak. He carried the boy on his back.
3.2. But for his carrying the boy we should have reached the camp much later.
4.1. It began to rain and we didn’t go for our walk.
4.2. But for the rain we should have gone for our walk.
5.1. I want to go but I have this examination tomorrow.
5.2. But for this examination I should go too.
6.1. She help me and I could finish it in time.
6.2. But for her help I could not have finished it in time.
