Which one is correct? I don't know which tense to use and if the reported speeh is correct.

If I see my boyfriend with another girl, I will ask him, " who is the girl next to you?" Then, if i find out that the girl is his friend, I will introduce myself , saying " hi, I am Tom's girlfriend.' or

If I saw my boyfriend with another girl, I would ask him who was the girl next to him. Then, If I found out that she is just one of his acquaintence, I would introduce myself, saying " Hi. I am TOm's girlfriend.

From what I can see, Bosun, there's no reported speech involved in these two examples.
