Would you be kind enough to review the following sentences?

He accepted invitation to dinner with alacrity.

He readily accepted an invitation to dinner

I had to shake him several times to rouse him from his sleep.

The commander roused the sleeping men, and they set put again.

We tried to rouse him to a sense of the danger he was in.

His action aroused no suspicion at first.

The speaker tried to rouse the crowd to excitement

I was aroused by the ringing of the bell.

The commander roused the sleeping men, and they set [STRIKE]put[/STRIKE] out again. Yes.

We tried to rouse him to a sense of the danger he was in. It's OK, but I would prefer "...tried to alert him to the danger...)

His action aroused no suspicion at first. Yes.

The speaker tried to rouse the crowd to excitement. Yes (or into an excited state.)

I was aroused by the ringing of the bell. Yes, but you need to be careful with this one. "To arouse" doesn't only mean "to wake up", it also means "to excite sexually" so this could be taken to mean that the sound of the bell ringing made you sexually excited!
