Thanks but that is not the word I'm looking for?
I meant: if you get a Debit card for the first time and doesn't work, so you obviously have to call the bank and tell them that your card is .........

Hi. maybe You mean thta you card hasn't been activated yet, that it may be not valid. ;-)

if You need a synonym for 'not working' You can always say that sth is:
- flawed, faulty, defective
- broken, broken-down, decayed, (corrupt):-D
