This is definition for "Roster", I can't understand the bold part. can you help me?

That's not true. I have a job. I applied for it. I wanted it. I made it clear at my interview that I was not available to work on Mondays or Tuesdays. Fortunately, that was not a problem. Our staff list at work includes six part-time staff and the hours we can work are listed on a roster in the manager's office. Normally, we work the same hours each week but if the manager wants us to do different hours, or cover for another member of staff, he checks the list first to see who is available on the relevant day/at the relevant time.
