Salution of gender neutral name?

Hi,

I am sending a cover letter which will have the recipients name on it. What type of salutation would you recomend for a name like Kelly which could be male of female?
'Dear sir or madame' is probably not apropriate if a name is listed right?

'Dear Ms....' or 'Dear Mr....' neither seems appropriate, any recomendations?

The modern habit seems to be to avoid the problem by writing "Dear Kelly Bloggs".
