I have difficulty understanding the underlined sentence. Could anyone do me a favor? Thank you very much.

The comic strip occasion is true in another respect. Few of us, however baffled and frustrated we may feel, try to sort things out in the office; or even let our feelings show. We save them up for our luckless partners.

It means we vent up all these feelings to our (unlucky) partners instead of trying to deal with their cause at the office.
