Dear Teacher,

I have a question on the sentence below.

In order to see closer objects clearly, however, each set of muscles has to work.

In the above, Is that possible use the word "close" instead of "Closer"?

What is the grammar rule ?

Dear Teacher,

In the above, [STRIKE]Is that[/STRIKE] is it possible to use the word "close" instead of "closer"?

Both are possible. It depends on the context. If you are talking about some objects which are closer than others, use "closer".

Note that I have changed the title of your thread to include some of the words from your question.
