Dear teachers,

Could you please explain what "setting" of a story should include?

As far as I know, characters, place and time should be included. What about weather, for example, when the story took place it was hot or cold or rainy?

'setting' of a story, play, movie, or scene) refers to it as happening at a specified time or in a specified place : "A spy novel set in Berlin.' ' A murder mystery set in Victorian England.'

Whether it's raining, or sunny or whatever in the story, is what the writer uses to add to 'atmosphere' (rather funnily!). It is not part of the setting as such.
