I have a problem with these sentences, to me number 2 and 3 seem correct; however, the first one seems a bit odd. Can anyone shed some light on this?


1. Several children from this school play in the park every afternoon.


2. Several of the children from this school play in the park every afternoon.


3. Several children play in the park every afternoon.

all correct.

The mean essentially the same. There's nothing really to figure out. You can say it that way.
