hi,
it is a comman notion about Shakspeare education,that he did not recieve formal education. is it true?

Absolutely not. He attended the Grammar School in Stratford and would have been well-grounded in the basic subjects of the day.

Shakespeare's father was a senior official in town, so this would have meant that his children were offered free education. Accordingly, his father took advantage of this and William actually attended King's New School in Stratford. The standard of schooling here was high (most of the teachers had a university background) and he would have received a better than average education for the time.
