What is happening to the usage of singular/plural nouns relative to verve usage? I hear a lot of inconsistencies - verb usage relative to collective nouns, uk-style, us-style - what is the trend?
Also, classification of numbers as plural or singular - I learned form school that all numbers greater than one are plural and numbers from one and less are singular, e.g. one penny, half penny, but I hear things like, "zero degrees and 0.6 degrees, etc. Is this correct?
