Hi, is it possible to identify by the verb (sipping) from which container is he drinking, can or bottle? I mean, do you use the same verb for both? Thank you.

"..is it possible to identify by the verb (sipping) [STRIKE]by[/STRIKE] what he is drinking from (can or bottle)?" - is it right?

Remove the second "by" (as I have done above) and it's understandable.

Simply put, "to sip" means "to take small amounts of liquid into one's mouth". It has nothing to do with the vessel containing the liquid.
