I just saw 'snakebite' used as a verb in a report of a hockey game. It says:
"We haven't had a good record against them," Hitchcock said. "We've been snakebit in some of our games with these guys. This is a big step, to win on the road against a good opponent."
I haven't found it in my dictionaries but inferring from the context it means to experience or be affected by something bad. Am I right?
Have you guys ever heard or used it?
