1. Many prestigious school students’ family socioeconomic status is much higher than the social average.
2. The family socioeconomic status of the elite students studying in prestigious schools is much higher than the social average.

1. Many prestigious school students’ family socioeconomic status is much higher than the social average.
2. The family socioeconomic status of the elite students studying in prestigious schools is much higher than the social average.

1 is awkward. Leave out 'social' in 2. Social average doesn't mean anything.
I would write, "The socioeconomic status of the families of elite students studying in prestigious schools is much higher than average."
