Someone journeyed

What is it understood when said that someone is very journeyed? No more clues except I've found it at an actor's states on his next character to play. He says he likes him cause he's very rounded (I suppose that means he's very well defined), very intricate , and very journeyed ¿?

He has done a great deal of travelling, either in his own country or internationally. OR metaphorically, that he has been through a lot.
