On a web page: Dear students, soon you'll be taking an online test which aims at checking your listening comprehension skills.

Does this sentence sound OK? I am interested in its grammar structure first of all - is the Future Continuous Tense used correctly here? And it would be good to know your opinion about the use of vocabulary, too.

And if I wrote "soon you are taking", would the meaning change?

With the amendment I have made in red above, it's fine. It would also be OK with "Soon you will take" or "Soon you are going to take" or, at a push, "Soon you are taking".
