could you please tell me what "stand for" means in the following sentence:

The processor maintains ownership of the products until payment has been effected. The processor stands for delivery to the customer.

Does it mean that he is responsible for the delivery?

Very obscure wording, but yes, it looks as though the manufacturer is responsible for shipping.
