starting a new family

I got a question if '' starting a new family'' is inclusive of the following meaning.

If I have lived with my parents so far in the same place, but I am about to move out as I am getting married.

In this context, does it makes sense to say '' I am going to start a new family'' to mean '' I am going to move out''.

Please clarify this clutter.

I would assume you meant you were going to have a baby, and a "new" family might make me think you were previously married, and now that you are remarried, you will have additional children to start you new family. "... to form a family of my own" would be closer to what I would expect in your situation.

Others may understand it to mean just as you intended.
