If you want to calm down a horse which got scared of something what would you say? Does the word "Steady!" suit here?

"Easy, girl (or boy)" would be possible as well.

Frankly, I don't think it would matter that much, as not many horses understand English. You could probably use whatever phrase you use in your native language, and get the same reaction. It's more in the way you say it.

You are right, of course, but I'm translating a text which will be read by people, and they, unfortunatelly, understand everything:lol:

In that case, 'Steady' or SD's suggestions are fine.
