Is the use of "strong" in the following sentence correct grammatically and conceptually? If it is not , kindly suggest ways to make it clearer.

But, the LES simulation is a good suggestion and is our future research. For this purpose, we are preparing a CFD laboratory with strong hardware.

My meaning of "strong hardware" is "computers with high RAM and CPU".

"Strong" doesn't work. You could say robust hardware, but that's a vague description. Unless space is really at a premium, why not spell it out as you did in the sentence you put in a quote?
