WHen you talk about your feeling(??) about a movie, can I use surprsing or impressive or realisitc? For example,

His acting was realistic.

THe movie has great graphics(??) and it is impressive.

The movie is surprsing because it shows a lot of wild action and special effects.

Bosun, you may want to go to Yahoo Movies and link to the critics' reviews. That will give you a sense of the general nature of reviews.

I would not say "the movie is [emotion word]" because it may not have that impression that others have. I would say "I was surprised by..."

On the other hand, if there is something that would be so universal - shock, horror, etc - that everyone who sees it would be likely to have the same reaction, you can use that.
