I got the sentence "elaborate ceremony" in reading passage what is the meaning of that word the choices given are A. Expensive. B. Sophisticated, C. Complicated

An elaborate ceremony is one that has many parts to it, and because it is so complicated it requires much preparation.

I agree, and I almost said that, but I decided to make my answer somewhat more elaborate and a little more complicated. And while it might have been more sophisticated, I doubt it was any more expensive. :wink:
