Hello.

I have written a long sentence about tasks of the first-line icebreaker and second-line ones.

Could you take a look at it?

The first-line icebreaker will be used for breaking up thick ice cover and cutting out a straight ice-free route for other ships whereas the task of the second-line icebreakers will be to pulverise the already broken up ice and to widen the straight ice-free route cut out by the first-line icebreakers as well as to cut out an ice-free route where they cannot gain access.

Does the whole sentence make sense to you?

Thank you.

It does. It would be easier to read if it were broken into two sentences though.

Hello Jacek:

May I say how glad I am that you are here. You ask very interesting questions.

I am having trouble with the logic of your passsge. So the first line icebreaker chops out the rough passage and the second line chops up the ice debris.

So shouldn't it be an ice-free passsge to which they can gain access rather than one to which they cannot?
