I am currently preparing to present my first EFL lesson ever before a board which will decide whether or not I have what it takes to go teach English in Japan. So, my question is: What is a good topic for my first lesson (regardless of the ages of my hypothetical students)?

How about some comparisons between the country you are from and Japan. This way both parties are equally involved. You can start with holidays, ethnic food differences, weather, TV programs, national sports and whatever else comes to your mind.
