Could someone tell me what are differences among criterion, standard, and specification?

I'm currently translating a technical document (test report) regarding an auto component.

HELP!

These are very close terms and often used interchangeably. Sometimes there is a slight difference due to context.

In manufacturing a standard is something you must meet and a specification is the customers standard. When you order something you "specify" a standard that must be met.

A criterion is one of several criteria and is the same as a standard or specification. The criteria are a set of standards.

I hope this helps,
