I am wondering if my sentences are grammatically correct.

Teenagers gathered in the street to watch Bob, a former professional player, kicking the ball and playing keepie uppie. "A little bit rusty," he told them, "but still able to score goals."

To be fair, with the use of "playing keepie uppie", I think most people would understand that he had been a football (soccer) player without actually saying it. However, if the audience isn't likely to be familiar with the term, the name of the sport would be useful.
