Dear Sir,

I would like to know what tense we should use for this action: Someone used to work as ...occupation for over a decade. But, now he/she doesn't work as that position anymore. So, should we use Past Simple Tense or Present Perfect Tense or whatelse for that position?

Thanks much,
Somjai

Peter worked as a busdriver for over a decade but now he is retired.

Only past simple is possible here.
