You need to be careful about correct placement of the adverb in a sentence.

1) you had told me earlier regarding the matter

Why use the past perfect tense when you can use the simple past (told) and present perfect (have told)?

OR

you told earlier that they were going to the market

Wrong. 'Tell/told' is a transitive verb

2) did we speak about this matter before/earlier?
With before, it is better to use the present perfect (have we spoken... before)

3) i spoke to you regarding this matter before/earlier.
ditto

sarat - Is there a difference - 'you told me earlier' / 'you earlier told me'/ earlier you told me ? I don't think so.

hello,

1) you had told me earlier regarding the matter

"told me regarding ... " isn't good.
Try "You informed me about ...", "You told me about ..."

"You spoke to me regarding ..."

OR

You told me earlier that they were going to the market.
tedtmc's four points are exactly what I was planning to say.
So I won't repeat them, but just add the above.
