Hi,

could you please proofread the following sentence? I am not sure about the tense when speaking of a past period (2007) and a period up to now at the same time:

In response to your request, I would like to inform that only one dispute involving your company was/has been resolved in 2007 and to date where the value of the matter in dispute exceeded 10,000 USD.

I'm not sure what you mean "and to date" since 2007 is firmly in the past now.

Only one dispute was resolved in 2007 and none to date in 2008, or something like that?

Note that you need "inform YOU..." - I think your omission was just a typo.

The sentence mentiones two periods: the audited period (which is 2007) and an unidentified period up to now. It is a report for the audited period of 2007, so this period is probably mentioned separately, but the sentence also says that the same is true for some past period up to now.

Only one was resolved in 2007. Only one has been resolved to date, and that was in 2007.

But the combination doesn't work.

Then maybe "only one dispute has been resolved to date (in 2007)"

That would work, but it's not clear whether "to date" includes the entire time until report was prepared, in 2008 with 2007 in the past, or only up until some point in 2007. Perhaps having the date clearly indicated on the report would take away any ambiguity.
