I am wondering if my sentence is grammatically correct.

The acrimony between Anna and Philip went so far that she told him if he did not stop gargling every morning, she would apply for divorce.

I would use "apply for a divorce" or "file for divorce." Also, consider "got/became so bad" instead of "went so far."
