I would advise reading shorter texts like magazines, newspapers, short stories, etc, before trying something as ambitious as a novel. Start small and work upto bigger things. Libraries are full of novels with pencil notes that stop around page ten, meaning that the book has not been finished.;-0

Yes,I think you are right and thank you!
But my English teacher tell us that If you passed the exam(this exam is used to test your English leavl.),you would better read some English novel.
And I had passed it,so I don't how to do with it!
You say I can read some newspaper ect,I do.But I read it in a little time,
so I want to read some English novel, then which one or two can I choose?
It would better be short and not too different.
My English teacher didn't tell us,and I also want to know your opinion.
Thank you in advance!

"The Old Man and the Sea" (by Hemingway) is fairly short. Also: "The Red Badge of Courage" (Stephen Crane), and "The Call of the Wild" (Jack London)

(Say: "my English teacher tells us")

I bought <<The Old Man And The Sea>>(by Hemingway)today and I read the first page of it.
I think it is very equal to me.
The book writes in English and my first language,so if I didn't kown the sentence mean,I can read in the other way.
The other two books I will read after that.
And then I will tell you what I think after reading that.
It will be used two weeks.
Then I will come back.

Re:

Does that mean you are up to the task of reading it? :)

Re:

Say:
  • The book is written in English and my first language, so if I don't know what a sentence means in English I read it in my native language to determine the meaning.
Did I get that right? :)

Re:
  • The other two books I will read after that.
I got that.

Re:

Say:
  • And then I will tell you what I think (about them) after I finish reading them.

Re:

Say:
  • I will be finished in two weeks.

Re:
  • Then I will come back.
I got that too.

Yes ,you are all right and think you!
I am very suprise that what I what to say in your expression is so good that I must study harder.
And I think reading novel is a useful studing English way.
I read only a little of it,but I have studied many words and I think I have remembered it.
I like studying English and I like English.
So please do in this way,I think studying more, especially in writing !

I hope you don't run across too many new words. That can make reading difficult. Perhaps it will be worth it though.

Better:
  • I have read only a little of it, but I have studied many of the words, and I think I have memorized them.

Come back soon.
