I am wondering if my sentences are grammatically correct.

The man who jumped from the high bridge into the river was saved by an angler, who jumped into the cold water without a second thought. Despite the fast-flowing river, he managed to grab the drowning man's hand and swim with him to the riverbank.

I'd probably end with "and pulled/dragged him to the riverbank".
