Throw weight around means to use your position or influence (most of the time ,unfairly) to get what you want or to behaveto show that a person is more important than other people.

Throw weight around means to use your position or influence (most of the time ,unfairly) to get what you want or to behaveto show that a person is more important than other people.

I don't know whether this is a feature of Indian English, but in Br English - although we do have the idiom 'throw one's weight about/around' - this sentence seems to me to mean simply 'I didn't support either side' [with the implication that the support is of considerable weight].
