Hello all,
What does "forager" mean? Does it mean "an animal that looks for food"?

Meerkats feed mainly on insects, spiders and snails, but their diet occasionally includes small rodents, lizards, and the roots of certain plants. They will even tackle dangerous prey such as snakes and scorpions. Relying on its keen sense of smell, the meerkat is a successful forager.

Yes, it does. It doesn't have to be an animal (if, by animal, you mean "not a person"). People can forage too. Every spring, I forage for wild garlic and nettles. This simply means that I go out and pick them in the wild.
