Are my sentences grammatically correct?

The president's mansion lies on the hill overlooking the town. With its thick walls and narrow windows it looks more like a fortress than a house. It is protected by security guards in plain clothes who seems to be trigger-happy and just wait for the opportunity to use their weapons.

I will repeat my sentence.

The president's mansion stands on the hill overlooking the town. With its thick walls and narrow windows it looks more like a fortress than a house. It is protected by security guards in plain clothes who seem to be trigger-happy, waiting for the opportunity to use their weapons.
