I am wondering if my sentence is grammatically correct. I am not sure if my use of "not only, but" is correct in this sentence.

The prime minister had to admit that not only he had no support of his party for the economic reforms, but also that he lacked financial means to implement them.

See above. In case the strikethroughs and additions aren't clear, here are the two constructions:

- He had to admit that not only did he not have the support of his party ...
- He had to admit that not only did he have no support from his party ...
