Hello:

Why in these sentences

1) The sales Forecasts...... in singular should not this be "forecast"?

2) The news reports..... in sinsular should not this be "report"?

Why in these sentences are the verbs in the 3rd person (with and "s")?

Hello:

Why in these sentences

1) The sales Forecasts...... in singular should not this be "forecast"?
There could be more than one forecast - sales of shoes, boots, slippers say, each one separate. Sales is obviously plural. A sales forecast of cars, of all those made in one factory is singular.

2) The news reports..... in sinsular should not this be "report"?
As before, there are more than one report. A news reader may say 'here is a report from.....' but in a newspaper there are reports of the news, hence news reports.

Why in these sentences are the verbs in the 3rd person (with and "s")?

thank you!

You have not provided sentences; those are phrases using plural nouns not verbs.
