I am wondering if my sentences are grammatically correct.

The stand-off between the Indian and Chinese troops in Doklam area has been going on for three months, with the high risk of armed confrontation. A potential war between the two large countries would have damaging consequences nor only for the region but also for the whole world.

Unless the region is normally referred to as "Doklam area", it needs a definite article.
