Can we have prepositions in such structures, or is it wrong if we have them?

This city is a safe place to live (in).

The streets are safe to walk (in) both day or night.

The hotel is the great place to stay (in/at) for a vacation.

Can we use "both" and "or" together ?
I was taught to use the following pairs:
both .. and
either .. or
neither .. nor
not only ... but also
