[Grammar] The subject of the participle

Hello,

"The man was caught by Konya police in a raid on a house after receiving a notice about drug trafficking in Karatay’s Doğanlar neighborhood, where they seized 540 grams of cannabis found after most were burned before the raid."

This sentence is a bit weird, isn't it? It sounds as if the man received the notice. I think it would be better if it were something like this:
Konya police caught the man in a raid on a house after receiving a notice [...]

Yes, I agree that what you suggest would be better. The rest of the piece needs some work, too. It should be two sentences, the first one ending with 'neighbourhood', the second starting with 'They' and continuing, '...seized just 540 grams of cannabis, the rest having been burned before the raid.'
