The usage of "in" for year

Let say a person says: *we will get married in 2 years*

1) In 2 years means more than 2 years but less than 3 years from now.

2) Less than 2 years.

3) Exactly 2 years from now.

Hope you understand my question.

It is imprecise. If I said those words, I would probably be thinking of something between 21 and 27 months.

(Actually, if I said those words, I'd also be thinking about the need to get a divorce first.)
