Would you please correct the mistakes in my sentence?

The well-known writer ventured an opinion that ebooks were the future and printed ones the distant past, which drew an avalanche of criticism from his colleagues.

Hmm, although we frequently say that something "is the future", we don't tend to use a similar construction to say that something "is the past".

"....ebooks were the future and printed ones history."

Or do you know a better word I could use in my sentence?

Rover_KE meant to make them bigger because they are very small.

No idea what was going on there then. Andrewg's text appeared to be a tiny font to the rest of us. I've just edited the post and removed the formatting. Now it seems to be in standard Arial Size 2. I have no idea why it appeared larger than normal on Andrewg's screen!
