Hi everyone,
Is there any differenece among the followings:

one's Sunday best
one's glad rags
one's best bib and tucker

gnash one's teeth
grind one's teeth

Yes, there are differences, but they are quite subtle.

one's Sunday best....................... usually best clothes, but quite formal: the sort you might wear to go to church.

one's glad rags............................ not necessarily "best" clothes, but clothes that you feel good wearing: the sort you'd wear to a party or on a night out.

one's best bib and tucker................again not necessarily "best" clothes (like Sunday best), but certainly good clothes that are more formal than glad rags but less so than Sunday best: the sort you'd wear to go to an expensive restuarant or a job interview, for example.



gnash one's teeth................. bang them together in rage.

grind one's teeth.................. rub them together continually, usually when you're frustrated or anxious.
