These are the benefits that were revealed in the XYZ chapter of the Lotus Sutra and the benefits that will be received by the believers of the Lotus Sutra when they are reborn as a human.

Should it be they are reborn as humans instead?

Yes. "Humans" is fine. "People" is OK. I think "humans" may work better in this context if the alternative is to be reborn as oxen, alligators, or paramecia (for example).
