[Grammar] They strolled along/down/across the street looking in the store windows.

Hi,

The reason why we use -ing form of a verb in these two examples is that two actions happen simultaneously. Is my analysis OK?


They strolled across the street looking in the store windows.
They strolled along the riverbank, enjoying the evening sun.

Yes, they are grammatically correct.
It's best to look into windows as you are strolling down or along the street. Doing it while you are crossing the street will get you run over by a car!

what is the difference between look in and look into ?I couldn't find their differences. It would be better if I am given a link.

You can use either. I didn't deliberately change that.
