"Over 100 million ringgit ($A34.52 million) was spent by BN to win a thin majority in Hulu Selangor, that amounts to 65,000 ringgit per person," Anwar said in a statement on Monday.

Is it correct to say 'thin majority'? Should 'narrow' be used in place of 'thin'?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, it is correct. The word ‘thin’ is used in the sense of reduced or weak majority where as narrow does not fit with the noun ‘majority’. You can say: win by a narrow margin.
