Which of my sentences are correct? Do you say "thoughts", "minds" or are both possible in English?
a. Such a thing would never enter my thoughts.
b. Such a thing would never enter my mind.

We also use "cross my mind".

Did you think about buying the handbag that matches those shoes?
It never crossed my mind. I'd already spent a month's wages on the shoes!

Why didn't you take the shortcut to my house?
It never crossed my mind. That path looks dark and dangerous. I prefer to use the well-lit road to get here.
