a)A dog is a faithful animal.
b)The dog is a faithful animal.
c)Dogs are faithful animals.

I think the three examples share the same basic meaning.
Is there a difference of nuance between them?

All three are correct. No difference in meaning. (C) is less formal than the first two. :-D:-D
