Can we replace "to do something" by "doing something" and vice versa ?
Can you please give some examples ?
What about the following sentence ?
"I learn English hard to approach (for approaching) more and more information on the Internet".

You can do so but there will be a slight change in the meaning; as:
"This is the way to do something." lays emphasis on how you get something or somewhere. .
“This is the way for doing something” lays emphasis on the purpose of doing something.
What about the following sentence ?
"I learn English hard to approach (for approaching) more and more information on the Internet".

Yes, both are possible with marginal change in meaning

I think you need to change the verb- try to get information rather than [strike]approach[/strike].
